Tax payment to the customer is 3% or $1.50 which ever is greater.

An information fee will be charged to non property owners requesting information.
When calling Republic Waste for large item pick up, please be sure to say your complete address AND that you are in
Secord Township. There is an issue with addresses on their end and they need to know the specific township where the item is located.

For information on DNR fire permits residents should call
between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM.

Meeting notices will be posted on our website. Your attendance and input are always welcome. Police Power ordinances will be posted on the website along with permit fees and forms.
A few reminders :
- Changes on property will require an approved permit. Contact Zoning Administrator to issue permits.
- Rental properties require a Health Dept. inspection and a permit.
- Most signs and outdoor storage containers require a permit.
- Burning of leaves and trash in ditches is illegal. Natural gas lines and cable lines run underground.
Point of sale inspections will soon be a countywide ordinance. It protects our main asset, the river and lake. An approved inspection of your well and septic is required for the sale of any property or change of ownership. The inspection, once approved is good for 5 years.
Please be aware of the change of the Fireworks Ordinance. Dates and times of usage can be found on the website. There will be a fine of $1,000.00 for each violation.

Property taxes are billed twice each year, Summer and Winter. Both are collected by Secord Township.
Please note that your address on your bill is correct, sending changes back with your payment if necessary.
Property owners who pay by using e-checks, should make sure their property ID is noted on the check.
Postmarks are NOT accepted.

Secord Lake Water Return
Homeowners will be responsible to cut between their seawall out 40 feet.
EGLE has approved the spraying of the sand bar. PLM used a product to help with the cottonwood and willow tree growth.
